Dr. P. Michelle Wyatt

Dr. Paula "Michelle" Gordon-Wyatt is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, born to the late Robert E. Gordon and Joyce H. Gordon. She received her early education in the Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County School System and graduated from Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, Illinois, in June 1986.
Dr. Wyatt's life reflects a powerful commitment to service, scholarship, and faith. In September 1997, she completed her Practical Nurse Diploma and went on to serve faithfully for many years as a pediatric charge nurse. Her passion for healthcare led her to Tennessee State University, where she earned both an Associate of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She later graduated summa cum laude from Union University with a Master of Science in Nursing and earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Wyatt accepted Christ at an early age and united with Kayne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained an active member for more than twenty years, serving faithfully as Choral Director for fifteen years.
In January 2012, Dr. Wyatt answered God's call into the preached ministry. She delivered her initial sermon on August 26, 2012. After much prayer and discernment, she was led to return to her church home in August 2022, was ordained on June 4, 2023, and served as Executive Pastor.
On October 26, 2025, Dr. Paula Michelle Gordon-Wyatt made history as the first woman called to pastor a historic Missionary Baptist Church - an anointed milestone that reflects her faithfulness, perseverance, and obedience to God's call.
Dr. Wyatt has been married to Michael B. Wyatt, Sr. since June 30, 1990. Together, they are the proud parents of Michael B. Wyatt, Jr. (daughter-in-love Jade) and Alyssa Janae', and the joyful grandparents of four grandchildren.
